The E8076 Polymer Conductivity Cell is for dip applications where the conductivity is high where glass is not acceptable e.g. food processing.
Typical applications are high conductivity solutions where the standard K=1 cell is not suitable. Ideal for all samples above 100ms/cm sq.
Use of the correct cell is important to get accurate results. e.g. Brine solutions can be say 500ms/cm. Unless the plates are small and separated there can be collision interference reducing the conductivity value.
A rough guide is as follows:Â Â
K=0.1 Cell  Pure solutions e.g. deionised water  Conductivities below 10uS/cm
K=1.0 Cell  General laboratory applications for the vast majority of samples. Conductivities between 10us/cm and 100ms/cm
K=10 Cell  Highly conductive solutions. Strong Acids and Brines etc.   Conductivities over 100ms/cm
The 12mm rugged inert polymer body has two internal active carbon electrodes which have to be submerged in the samples. The first plate is situated near the holes in the body 5cm from the bottom of the shaft. The second hole is in the base of the shaft allowing the sample to flood the internal aperture in the probe.
The E8076 Conductivity Cell is suitable for use with the complete range of EDT conductivity meters and contains a temperature sensor to enable all readings to be temperature compensated (ATC).
The correct Calibration solution for this probe is the A3056 12.88ms/cm product. The E8076 Polymer Conductivity Cell has a fixed 1 metre cable with a mini-DIN connector to fit EDT meters.
